Born in 1997, Tango Tres present to you a trip inside the feelings that generated the tango music: sadness, frustration, homesickness and the hope of millons of immigrateds heaped up into the suburb of Buenos Aires, with an incredible mixture of differents types of cultures often in opposite between them, but that gave a new vitality and original lymph to the birth and development of this culture as well as musical kinds called tango.
The trio proposes an investigation about the repertory of tango's origins known like "Guardia Vieja" (Old Guard), since 1880 until 1920 in Buenos Aires and Montevideo, and their typical styles: the cuban danza and habanera, the brazilian maxixe, the uruguayan candombe, the argentine milonga candombe and milonga "pampera".
The tangos executed by Tango Tres are some of the most celebrated composers of that age: Angel Villoldo, Agustín Bardi, Eduardo Arolas, Vicente Greco, Enrique Saborido, Rosendo Mendizábal, Francisco Canaro, Gerardo Mattos Rodríguez, Luis Teisseire, Juan Maglio "Pacho". All originals arrangements are written by Silvio Zalambani, saxophonist and inventor of the project.
The Début of Tango Tres was in 1997 at "Palau of Music" in Valencia (Spain), during the "XI Saxophone World Festival" and then they performed around all Italy and also in Spain, Argentine and Chile, gettin agreement and success by public and rewiev.
The group recorded his first CD "Guardia Vieja" (Old Guard) in 1998 (Mobydick Edition - Faenza, Italy), broadcast by this radio: Radio Swiss Jazz and Radio RaBe (Bern-Switzerland), Argentine National Radio y Radio Palermo (Buenos Aires-Argentine), Radio Planice (Lima-Perú) and KOOP Radio (Austin-USA).
In 1999 they proposed two originals theatre productions: "Shadows of tango" and "Tango's Stories" with "Che tango che" dance company by the argentine choreographer Oscar Raúl Benavídez.
The trio participated at various festivals: Teatro Polivalente (Bologna 1997), Cantieri della Zisa (Palermo 1998), Pavaglione Estate (Lugo di Romagna 1998), Tango Club Medialuna (Cesena 1999), Faenza Jazz (Faenza 1999), I Cortili di Modena (Modena 1999), Jazz in Bianco e Nero (Brisighella 1999), Ferrara Busker's Festival (Ferrara 1999), Il Gusto Wine Bar (Roma 2002), Concerti dell'Alba (Cesenatico 2003), VI Cumbre Mundial del Tango (Seville-Spain 2005), EtnoJazz&TasteFest (Milano 2006), Galleria d'Arte Moderna (Cagliari 2006), VII Cumbre Mundial del Tango (Valparaíso-Chile 2007), Argentine National Radio (Buenos Aires-Argentine 2007), VIII Cumbre Mundial del Tango (Bariloche-Argentine 2009), Club El Vesuvio (Buenos Aires-Argentine 2009), Los Porteñitos (Buenos Aires-Argentine 2009), Ravenna Festival (Ravenna 2010), Concerti dell'Alba (Cesenatico 2010).
Thanks to the cultural sponsorship of Emilia-Romagna, Tango Tres represented Italy at three last editions of "World Tango Summit" (Seville-Spain '05, Valparaiso-Chile '07, Bariloche-Argentine '09), thanks to the success they were interviewed by Mr Gabriel Soria, the vice-president of the Tango National Academy of Buenos Aires, for the Argentinean "Solo Tango" TV.
The trio performed at "EtnoJazz&TasteFest" (Milano-Italy 2006), at "Modern Art Gallery" in (Cagliari-Italy 2006) and many times in Argentine, in the patagonic city of San Martín of Andes and Buenos Aires, on live at Argentine National Radio and others important clubs of tango music, like: "Torcuato Tasso", "El Vesuvio" and "Los Porteñitos".
In 2010 Tango Tres showed inside the program of the afternoon concerts of "Ravenna Festival" (Ravenna-Italy).
In 2011 they are invited at the next edition of the "World Tango Summit" in Seinajoki (Finland).
Actually they are preparing the new discographic work that will entitle "Entrada Prohibida" (Entry no admittance).
Tango Tres also co-operate with the narrator Rubén Andrés Costanzo and "Che tango che" dance company by argentine choreographer Oscar Raúl Benavídez. Pictures
